SERKYL TREATMENT KEY BENEFITS: EFFECTIVENESS AND RAPID ACTION

Glycolic acid, widely used in cosmetics, is a fruit acid (AHA) derived from sugar beets or sugarcane. This small molecule penetrates the epidermis quickly and deeply. It works by breaking down the intercellular junctions that connect cells, thus selectively breaking down the targeted tissue.

Unlike most products on the market, SERKYL does not burn the horse's skin, does not cause significant inflammation, and is painless for the horse. Its unique formula, initially developed for humans to treat plantar warts, has been adapted for horses; it offers perfect adhesion, without dripping, even in case of friction (e.g., from the saddle strap), and does not require covering the product with a bandage after application. It is enriched with thuja water for maximum effectiveness.

THE ADVANTAGES OF SERKYL

✓ No burning or pain: gentle and non-aggressive formula✓ Perfect adhesion: sticky paste that stays in place without dripping✓ No bandage required: simple and convenient application✓ Targeted and selective action: destroys only the tissues being treated✓ Enriched with thuja water: synergy of active ingredients for optimal effectiveness✓ Painless for the horse: comfortable treatment

Important: It is essential to use this product as soon as the sarcoid appears and to not wait until the area is raw. Do not wait until after surgical removal or the post-surgery period to use this product, as it will no longer be effective.

THE VETERINARIAN'S OPINION

« Serkyl by DRJ Développement is a completely innovative product. It is formulated with glycolic acid, a molecule of natural origin (fruit acid), and thuja water.

This treatment for horses is recommended for topical application on sarcoids, warts, and hyperkeratosis (localised thickening of the horse's epidermis), which can be found, for example, in areas of friction, in the pastern hollow, etc. »

FAQ: Serkyl equine treatment

1How to apply Serkyl to a sarcoid?
Application of Serkyl is easy and convenient. First, clean the area to be treated without stripping it. Next apply a thin layer of Serkyl paste directly onto the sarcoid, wart or hyperkeratosis using a clean stick. The adhesive formula stays in place without running, even if the saddle strap rubs against it. No bandage is necessary after application. Reapply every 2 to 3 days depending on progress. Important: start the treatment as soon as the problem appears; do not wait for the skin growth to spread.
2How many applications are necessary?
The number of applications varies depending on the size and age of the sarcoid. On average, 2 to 6 applications are sufficient to see significant results. Some sarcoids fall off after only 2 to 3 applications, while older or larger lesions may require up to 6 applications spaced 2 to 3 days apart. Glycolic acid works gradually by breaking down intercellular junctions, allowing the unwanted tissue to detach naturally. Results are usually visible from the first week of treatment.
3Is the treatment painful for the horse?
No, Serkyl is painless for the horse. Unlike traditional treatments based on ketaratolytics or liquid nitrogen, which burn tissues and cause significant painful inflammatory reactions, Serkyl works gently. Glycolic acid selectively destroys the junctions between cells without causing burning or inflammation. Your horse will show no signs of discomfort during or after application. This is one of the main advantages of this innovative treatment, which offers an alternative that respects the animal’s well-being.
4Can Serkyl be used on all types of sarcoids?
Serkyl is effective on several types of equine skin lesions: sarcoids (fibropapillomas), warts, papillomas caused by human papillomavirus and hyperkeratosis (localised thickening of the skin). Caution: Serkyl must be applied as soon as the problem appears. It must NOT be used on areas that are already raw, or after recent surgical removal of a sarcoid, as its effectiveness would then be compromised.
5How long can the product be kept?
The 50g jar of Serkyl can be kept for several years after opening if it is properly resealed and stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. The sticky paste texture remains stable over time. The glass jar, supplied with its jute bag, allows optimal preservation. You can hang the bag near your horse’s stall so that it is always within reach. Check the expiry date indicated on the packaging. If the texture or colour of the product changes significantly, discontinue use.
6Should the area be protected after application?
No, this is one of the great advantages of Serkyl! Thanks to its unique adhesive formula, Serkyl adheres perfectly to the skin and requires no protective dressing. The paste stays in place without running, even if there is friction (movement of the saddle strap, the horse’s movement). This characteristic makes the treatment particularly practical and suitable for the horse’s daily life, allowing it to continue its activities normally during treatment, except for intense exercise.
7Can Serkyl be used after surgery?
No, Serkyl must NOT be used after surgery or close to a surgical procedure. The product is designed to work by progressively destroying the intercellular junctions of unwanted tissue. On a surgical wound or area that is already raw, Serkyl will no longer be effective, and there will be a risk of painful reactions. The key principle of Serkyl is early treatment: it must be used as soon as the sarcoid, wart or hyperkeratosis appears, before any surgical intervention. This approach allows us to avoid surgery in many cases.
8SERKYl and doping risk
No risk. SERKYL doesn’t contain any ingredient included in the list of doping products.
